Restore Local Control to Wisconsin Elections

As Americans, we all have a right to equality, freedom, and self-determination. But here in Wisconsin, these principles are being threatened. Outside money is flooding our elections. In 2023, over $115 million was spent on a single Wisconsin Supreme Court race, more than double the previous national record. Over 40% of the winning candidate’s funds came from out of state. This isn’t just a campaign finance issue, it’s a systemic flaw that leaves Wisconsin voters with less and less control over our own elections. Even worse, Wisconsin’s citizen legislature is blocked from responding. Past Supreme Court decisions have stripped states of the ability to enact even basic, common-sense election rules. Outside money is flooding our elections irregardless of party affiliation. So we must ask: Who decides how elections are run in Wisconsin? Distant courts and dark money groups — or the people who live, vote, and raise families here? It’s time for Madison to act. AJR 57 and SJR 58, currently being considered in our state legislature, would return decision-making power to Wisconsin lawmakers. Let’s restore local control, protect self-government, and put Wisconsin voters back in charge. Urge your legislators to support AJR 57 and SJR 58 as they come up for a vote in the coming weeks.
